Best of British Empire Tea  $28.00 *  GF or Vegetarian $32.00
We serve our Empire tea by reservation only - at least 72 hours in advance please.
We do not offer shared Empire Tea - thanks for your understanding

Our Empire Tea consists of 3 assorted finger sandwiches; 4 hot savories (varies but will iclude such items as quiche, sausage roll, mini pasty, chicken tikka samosa,  mushroom bite); scone with clotted cream & jam/curd, 6 mini desserts & a bottomless pot of tea.

This is our version of full afternoon tea, often (wrongly) referred to as High Tea outside Great Britain. High Tea was not a fancy tea at all but a more substantial meal taken in the early evening by the working class and served on a high table: the concept that it is a meal of foods like scones and finger sandwiches is a common one, but is not actually correct in a traditional or historical sense.

Afternoon tea is also known as Low Tea and is what most people think of when they hear the words High Tea. It was taken mid afternoon by the upper class and was presented on low tables, the food being served on tiered platters for ease of reach. Here you would find the dainty sandwiches and bite sized savories and rich desserts.

We have done a lot of research for the food for our Empire tea and we are proud to share that our menu is based on those of the most famous places in London for afternoon tea: The Ritz, The Savoy, Fortnum & Mason, Claridges and The Dorchester.

Reservation Policy
While we are happy to accomodate walk-ins during our tea room hours, we still strongly advise making a reservation, particularly on weekends. This also gives us the opportunity to ask about special dietary requirements. When we have special events like Mother's Day tea, we will only serve a specially themed Empire Tea: our regular menu will be unavailable at those times. As we are growing steadily, we have had to turn people away because we have had no availability and this is something we hate to do. Calling ahead saves you a journey and the disappointment of not being able to join us for tea, especially if you have driven a long way. We kindly ask that you provide us with a credit card number at the time of making your reservation.

 Cancellation Policy
If you need to change your reservation in any way (such as complete cancellation or reduction in party numbers), please give us at least 3 days notice for our regular Empire Tea or 7 days notice for special events such as Mother's Day, or your card will be charged for the full amount.  In the event of a partial group arriving but without notification of a non attendance, we are happy to box up the prepared food to take away for the person(s) who has/have not joined your party.  Our food is made to order for the number of people who make a reservation, so being a small business we sincerely appreciate timely cancellations so that we can offer the opportunity to other customers.

We are also happy to reserve the tearoom for special evets such as bridal showers or birthday parties. We require a non refundable deposit for such events.

We welcome children aged 5 years and older to come and enjoy the tearoom experience.
